Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Tanner comes from a creative household and is shaped by his global travels, Tanner's interest in the arts began during a childhood trip to Paris, where a visit to the Centre Pompidou left a lasting impression. He attended Highland Park High School before pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management at The University of Alabama. Tanner’s irreverent approach to the art world is deeply influenced by his parents, who taught him that nonconformity is a strength. His upbringing, diverse experiences in hospitality and commercial real estate, combined with a passion for art, led him to the unexpected role of a gallerist, shaping innovative exhibitions and fostering strong relationships with collectors and artists alike. Tanner has been involved with Dallas Contemporary for over a decade and is a devoted supporter of the Dallas art scene, which he describes as the heartbeat of America-inclusive, collaborative, and full of Texas hospitality.
Known for his keen eye for emerging talent, Tanner brings an eclectic, diverse mix of artists on a local and national level to the Dallas landscape. TF Gallery reflects Tanner’s vibrant, adventurous personality, offering a unique space for artists to thrive and succeed as they introduce their artwork in a gallery setting.
His love for art is matched by a passion for food and culture, frequently exploring Dallas' neighborhoods and restaurants. He also draws inspiration from artists like Georgia O'Keeffe and architect Frank Lloyd Wright, whose bold visions have shaped Tanner’s artistic outlook. Tanner’s goal with TF Gallery is to showcase works that push boundaries while fostering personal and professional growth for his artists.
When not curating art, Tanner can be found indulging in his love for fashion, food, and the Game of Thrones series, having named his French bulldogs Daenerys and Rhaegar after characters from the show. With a commitment to innovation and fun, Tanner aims to make TF Gallery a lasting and dynamic presence in both the local and global art landscape. The Dallas community can expect to see new innovative exhibitions and experiences at TF Gallery each quarter, from art to fashion, and beyond.

The role that curators play, like the art they care for, is constantly evolving. As culture shifts, moving with changes in the social and political landscape or technological innovations, so does the art being produced.
